My parents had those same glass balls hanging in our patio back in the sixties. It was obviously a thing back then.

You see those in nautical themed restaurants and bars sometimes. I've got some great memories from my younger wilder days of a place called Pelican's Roost on the grounds of one of the big hotels on Ft. Walton beach that had those as part of the décor.
Posters upthread have named them Japanese glass floats. I think they were used to float ships by putting a bunch of them inside the ship either during shipbuilding or trying to raise sunken ships.

Who was the taxidermist for that dog? He needs his arse kicked it’s like he didn’t even try. Reminds me of that bobcat mount on here a few years ago.
