Doug also said one of the biggest reasons is that tesla pretty quickly went from cutting edge to stale in like a year or two.
The EV options have grown tremendously over the last 18 or so months. Meanwhile tesla’s 4 vehicles are all styled off a 11-12 year old design with minimal interiors updates.
They were cutting edge in both interior design and in driver assistance. Now they are neither. Their interior design is dated and their “self driving” is no longer superior to the competition.
Supercharger network is really the only super compelling thing going in tesla’s favor right now for your average buyer.

Prices change on products. How does an adult who can purchase a car not know this?
They aren't adults, just children in adult bodies.

If you're rich enough to buy a tesla...., then shut up and drive what you paid for

LOL. These are not your father's adults. People are stupid.

I imagine most of these same owners got "duped" in to a general or gender studies degree and are now waiting on dat bailout.

Yeah auto makers routinely drop the msrp of brand new vehicles over 10k all the time.
Clever sarcasm requires saying an incorrect statement.

I said the same some time ago and got a load of pushback.

People are dumb. Everybody has overpaid for vehicles over the last 2 years. Should go without saying most tesla owners are liberals so that explains that.

How do so many people who apparently can afford $70K cars not have even the most rudimentary understanding of economics?
Posted on 1/16/23 at 7:19 pm to ragincajun03
The guy who bought the first Beta Max player said the same thing.

They can't really "afford" one, but they can get a loan and sign their name. Like all the poors in McMansions driving 100k dollar suburban.

I don’t agree with this. Their FSD is light years ahead of any other manufacturer. It’s one of their biggest differentiators followed by long term battery performance and supercharger access.

"There's a sucker born every minute"
What are the california dipshits whining about? They're 'saving the environment' aren't they? I thought you couldn't put a price tag on that?

Eh I took delivery in December for an M3. So I guess I didn’t miss out on the huge cuts. Love the car so no regrets.
Elon had a good tweet (back in 2018 after some price changes), saying all these people up in arms wanting a credit when prices go down never volunteer to cut a check when prices go up…

The melt from all the guys that got deals in December was great. You had to be a dolt to not understand Tesla wouldn't get the cars under the tax limits...

I bought a plane ticket a few days ago for $408. Less than 5 hours later I got a notification that it had reduced to $357. That's free market, folks.
