It is pretty sad that we are now coddling college students to protect them from potentially being offended.

Everyone go look up Johnathan Haidt now

One of his books is called “the coddling of the American mind”

Seems like a lot of work to say "everyone but whitey."

So they are still going to discuss the book and have it framed within a larger analysis?

Sounds to me to actually be a pretty level headed approach compared with many other universities in today's climate.

I'd never heard of the guy when I posted that. I'd probably enjoy reading that though.

BIPOC? This acronym shite is so fricking stupid.

So now black people aren’t people of color? Or are they super special colors?
It’s out of hand, have you seen this shite?

Yeah, this shite doesn’t reek of predators.

“Hey kids! We’re the cutie-pals! Come follow me under this bridge!”

Look him up. He has quite a few lectures on YouTube as well as a few books. His opinions are almost all spot on. He’s an NYU professor to boot.

Nice hover, dad (or mom, as the case may be). I heard if you get them into rowing it greatly increases their choices.

Just read up on her a bit. She was a member of CPUSA. I had no idea American had an official communist party/club going back to the Russian revolution although of course it makes sense and is perfectly legal. What I was surprised by though was they were openly supportive of the Soviet Union even during the Red Scare. This association alienated most left wing Americans because even they didn’t care much for the Soviet Union. Even more they actually got a significant amount of funding from the USSR. The USSR stopped funding them because CPUSA didn’t support The reforms away from communism the USSR was making.

They were too radical for the Soviets

I agree here. Tulane has about a 17% acceptance rate. Admissions is going to take one look at their list of applicants that is five times longer than their list of open spots and laugh at you. If they were starving for students, hitting admissions would make sense because they'd bitch to the administration that the can't fill spots because of this bullshite. Otherwise, Tulane's gonna Tulane.

I just watched a 2019 documentary about Appalachian people and it had a black woman in it. She was talking about a certain term and how it was outdated, she said it would be like calling her "colored" crazy how that is the accepted word now. I've never known a single black person in the south call themselves that. It reminds me of latinx which is a made up word by white academics to tell latino people they are sexist for their language having genders.

I hope parents don't really do this for their kids. I would have been so embarrassed. I know I did all my college investigations and evaluations on my own. Parents did buy me the books to review though.

lol, nice deflection.

Did you read the Reason article? An admissions officer told a concerned alumn to "go cry about it."

So whether that was initially the wrong office to contact, it's definitely now an appropriate target. And that officer should be fired.

Thus is likely why his kid wouldn’t get in to Tulane. And such as.
