I drive I-85 north of Atlanta a few times a year. From Clemson to Charlotte to Statesville (I-77), it's nothing but traffic and commercial buildings.
If you want to extrapolate it out 85 is like that from Atlanta to Charlotte. There are a few farms/open land(between Jefferson, GA to Anderson, SC) but it's mostly all built up now

As a lifelong resident, I personally avoid the drive from Montg to Mobile like the plague. Worst. Drive. Ever.
Getting to PCB is easy. just take the US divided hwys due South to Fl and easy flat 2 lanes to the beach.

I-16 between Macon and Savannah gives that stretch a run for its money. Mundane and boring.

I had to do this stretch so many times ones year when I was running a Bonnie plant route in that area right after I graduated. I agree, it is no man's land out there. Worse than MOB>MONT. PEN>TAL is about the same as MOB>MONT but at least you get to go over 2 pretty bays.

True, which is why I said from Clemson to Charlotte, instead of from Atlanta to Charlotte.

I hunt northwest of enterprise in the middle of nothing and it’s far superior to my drive from Washington parish to Houma for work once a month. I hate to admit it because I hate those gump bastards but Alabama is much nicer than Louisiana.

It rained on Monday and didn’t rain until 6 this evening (Fri)

I don’t like Alabama football
But let’s be real Alabama is a beautiful state
Unfortunately it gets really boring once south of Birmingham
Alabam is the most geologically diverse state in the country actually
Beach
Pine forest
Rolling hills
Mountains
Swamps
Caves
Hiking
Beach
Fishing
Hunting
…….
Yes this is a fact. Geologically the most diverse.

I like Alabama, but you can say the same thing about several other states, like Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and so on.

Going to the beach down there is a waste of money. We have thousands of miles of beautiful beach coastline on freshwater lakes in America with a lot more privacy and a lot closer to home.
The Florabama/Panhandle experience is trashy and overpriced. 30A is a place where yuppy try hards go to bump pecker heads and show how much money theyre willing to burn to do the same exact shite every other white yuppy couple with a few kids is doing for their vacation.....and to show off their gay 30A sticker on their Toyota Highlander or Lexus when they get back to their Southern suburb bubble. Its the "Keeping Up with the Jones" vacation of the South.

I’m sorry, Lake Erie and the Ohio river are not attractive to me
Northern Michigan has beautiful water, but it’s cold until July
