Wide open spaces tend to give people a sense of freedom that’s hard to explain.

I don't give a shite what cute little names you use. The fact remains the divide in this country is not North vs South or educated vs non-educated.

It's rural vs urban.

It's wanting to live your life as you see fit, versus wanting the government to dictate how one should live their life, usually in the name of "safety."

It's the entire reason the mask bullshite became so polarizing. It's a symbol of two very different ways of how one should live.

Being intentionally obtuse isn't a virtue

He's referring to a platform of a major political party that happens to control the government at the moment

It's not "dozens of college kids."

I haven’t gotten to that point. Had to go into the office downtown yesterday and chose to drive in and pay to park rather than take the T.

I take the T to work when I’m in the office, parking and traffic are just a bitch to deal with

Are you serious?

Democrat politicians, writers, leaders, etc., have pushed for hate speech legislation or, at minimum, openly supported it.

Back in 2015, 51% of Democrats supported criminalizing hate speech/curtailing freedom of speech (likely much higher now).

This isn’t just college kids. That is incredibly disingenuous.

Ah yeah that area is such a pain in the arse to drive to. At least coming from my direction. I’d probably take the T too.

I hope that with the fed overextending and discrediting itself, it will lead to a vacuum filled by the states and we'll resemble a true republic like we were intended to be rather than this awful democracy that's being portrayed.

Based on what judges did to Trump during his term, my prediction was we'd have quite a lot of state-federal flashpoints in the coming years. And frankly I welcome that.

What's happening with Texas immigration and the eviction moratorium might lead to some quite serious, concrete examples much more quickly than I personally envisioned.

It sucks that Louisiana is so retarded and dependent on the Feds, we could really be a great state, but the old money just doesn't want to look forward.

I don't think it's as simple as North and South. There are people in the northeast and Pacific northwest that are of the same mind of people in the south. They just aren't as loud as the crazies in their region.

People forget this.. Our current system isn't what the founding fathers had in mind. A two party system in which both parties have a lot of loyalist. When you have a bunch of voters knowing who they would vote for without even questioning anything, that only benefits the elected officials from both parties.

One huge mistake our Founding Father's made.

How can you confidently state that we likely agree on 70% of things when we don’t agree on something as basic as “freedom of speech”?

Hell, one major ideology is for hate speech laws and believes speech is violence.

If we can’t agree on one of the most basic fundamentals of freedom, there is no way we would even reach agreement on 50% of topics.

LMAO conservatives dont believe in freedom of speech and they never have. See gay marriage, dont ask dont tell, the pornstar getting kicked out of a Trump Rally etc
