guy I know has a sweet dedicated run.
I usually get back hauls of returning pallets or pick up a load of something to bring back to my dc. Hauling back your empty trailer is awesome.

What have you heard about them?
Mostly just seen all the Swift memes on social media.
The part about the inexperienced drivers makes sense. I handled logistics for a previous employer for a couple of years, and it was always the new guys that did the stupid stuff. Taking out the fence (repeatedly), a telephone pole, sinking the cab in mud, etc.
One time I had a load that was supposed to be in Houston at 8am on Monday morning. Picked up just fine on Friday, but was a no-show on Monday morning. When they finally tracked him down, he had parked my load at his house near Jackson, and gone down to the casino in Biloxi, where he still was when he finally decided to answer the phone on Monday afternoon. He wasn't a Swift driver, but he sure was a POS.

Zipper merge is good if traffic is at a standstill but if you can merge early without anyone having to slow down then that is better.

She's had a third kid, by a third guy, now. This time, the dad was still married...to someone else. Luckily, they cut out her uterus a while back. She got plastered at a bar a couple years ago, drove home, and took out an entire AT&T switching station. Car still ran and she was able to limp it home and avoid charges.

no but ill check it out
It is a podcast now. It originally started as a late night AM radio talk/call in show that truck drivers would listen to.

Have you ever made it through Atlanta without seeing a wreck?

Almost the opposite. If traffic is flowing, stay in both lanes as long as you need to in order to merge safely without slowing down. Each lane being courteous and allowing it to happen. That is when zipper merging works.
Once traffic has slowed to a standstill, there's not enough space between cars to efficiently merge. Therefore, only way you are getting in is if a car slows down to create a space. Having to slow down only creates a chain reaction in a line of cars that slows it down even more.
The best way is to "zipper" before the standstill. Yes, one lane is going to have less capacity than multi lane, so you will experience a slow down. But forcing it all to take place at one merge point is infinitely slower than spreading it out before. I can understand that people don't see a sign. But more often than not, it's just a few selfish drivers trying to get in front of as many cars as possible and getting stuck at a point that they cause the full stop and then from there it's done.

no. The older guys have em. I use my trucker gps and cell phone mounted radar on for weather/music etc. Headphones on. I never take my eyes off the road.
Did you ever use one? When did they go out? 90s , early 2000s ?

The Petro truckstop in Hammond always seems packed to the gills. Is the food that good or is it the only good stop between lafayette and MS?
