I don't believe in the sentence of life without parole.

Hell, I don't believe in the sentence of life with the possibility of parole. If you committed a crime serious enough to earn the sentence of life imprisonment, then you ought to just be executed then and there.

It would save some money that's for sure.

But are you really ready to die?

Many criminal statutes require that for the Death penalty a second felony must be included, such as murder with armed robbery.

do you trust the government? you must to give the ability to just kill its citizens.

The U.S. prefers to waste money out of compassion on people that will never contribute to society again.
Hang them, discard them and spend that money on veteran assistance.

I think it is actually more punishment to be a caged animal for life w/o parole. Execution is quick and painless

Convicted by a jury of your peers.

I understand the financial commitment it puts on the state but don’t you think there’s any benefit of them rotting away in a cell for the rest of their miserable years thinking about what they’ve done? Genuinely asking, not being an arse.

And appeals shouldn't last 30 or more years.

Debatable.

Life without parole with EXTREME harsh living conditions.

Also, bring back farm prisons and chain gangs.

Agreed….. if you are found guilty of life in prison there is no hope for you anyway. You get to see your family and get three meals a day. You can use the argument of rehab but who cares. They will never be a productive member of society again. Their victim doesn’t get a chance to see their family anymore and said family goes through a huge amount of grief that may never go away. There are to many people on death row already, and for what?????? What good are they doing for anyone except wasting resources they do not deserve.

On a side note, was on wikipedia the other day and saw a list of death row inmates in California. Most of them have been on death row since the 70s or 80s.
They only repealed it for a few years in the 70s(worked out great for Manson and his followers), but it doesn't look like more than 1 or 2 people have been executed in the 40+ years that it's been reinstated.
I'd just like to know why California refuses to carry out sentences and/or why they reinstated the death penalty if they had no intention of actually executing anyone.

I could compromise with this. Make it like a Gulag for those frickers.

Then we need to change how we execute people… eye for a eye… I don’t about the cruel punishment. If you shoot someone, you should be shot. If you torture someone and then cut their throat the same should happen to you.

If you are a smoker and don't have anyone putting $ on your commissary, it might suck. Other than that, they have it pretty easy.
