I can still get in my car and drive to anything that's open
Not exactly martial law in my book

Well, you are aware of the rut, do something about it when the dust settles. Same thing happened to me when I tried retirement about ten years ago. Moved home, back in business working my little arse off, enjoying the local watering holes and friends. Probably never had less on my journey, but never more at peace.

I guess if you never do anything, then doing nothing is normal. Why do you work so much if you do nothing?

I’m not surprised you don’t have any friends, kids or hobbies.

You need to explain this. It doesn't make any sense at all.

Between my bad back, social anxiety disorder, and my son being away at college, I rarely left the house anyway aside from going to the grocery store, the doctor every few weeks, and going out to eat on occasion. Now my kid is back at home, so my life has improved.
Only thing that has changed was going out to eat, but our last meal the night before the lockdown was at Ruth’s Chris. I still go the grocery and the doctor. As far as other stores being closed, I buy everything from Amazon anyway.
Life is good.
Life is good.

I wouldn’t trade for your life if I were a caged animal; what a waste.

I feel you.
I already worked from home 4 days a week. I'm already introverted so I usually stay home and only really spend time with my family. I only see friends outside of work every couple of months and so most of my socialization is at my one office day & at my daily hour at the gym, and I'm perfectly fine with that.
So, with everything shut down.. not much has changed except I have to work out at home.

The only thing missing is curfews and arrests.
Basically most of the country is underage softer version of house arrest.

Not much has changed in my life per se. i still pretty much do all the normal stuff.
Mine isn't too different either, and is actually like a little staycation so far, but I can totally understand reasons others might be miserable:
- Single, so you're stuck in your place entirely alone through all this
- Live in a small apartment, so you have no patio or yard to hang out on
- Have young kids that are getting restless
Etc.
