I also was a handsome young man, and I have reached a similar conclusion. I’m not ugly, just well worn. The jowls are based on gravity and are going to happen. I accept that I am old and do the best I can.

Any time I feel self concious about my looks I scroll through some high school reunion pics. Seeing how bad my classmates havs aged makes me feel better. I may look like shite but I'm an Adonis in comparison to them.

No one in college is fat. Nearly every man past 45 has a gut unless you are working out everyday and eating clean. Difficult challenge.
I drop 30 pounds in 6 months and then my body wants to eat and the weight goes back up despite exercising. I take androgel but need a refill.
I thought I was ugly when I was 20. Now I look at that photo 32 years later and think I was pretty cute being slim and having a set of hair. It’s all relative.
I have never seen so many fat people in ascension parish who are over 40 years old. Men and women. I saw this one guy at subway restaurant yesterday. He was a large guy but must have been pushing 320lbs. I thought to myself , does this guy frick ? It happens to us all.

i can definitely relate to that. And to top it off in my bathroom when I look in the mirror my hair is blonde colored like it was in my youth. But it's only because the gray is reflecting the color of the walls which are some kind of camel yellow crap. In most pictures I look hideous to me. I hate pictures for the most part. It's very rare that I approve of a picture of me. C'est la vie huh.? At least I can honestly say youth was wasn't wasted on me.

50 years ago I am sure Gloria Swanson was moping around about how old she looked. Now she has been dead 40 years and nobody remembers who she was.

My looks are definitely fading, but I have a head of hair like Sam Elliott in Roadhouse so I’m thankful for that.
