Absolutely. The least he could have done was call 911 and remain with the man until paramedics arrived.

Delay his route and possibly jeopardize his job. The same people on this board clamoring he should have stayed, are the same ones complaining about their deliveries being late.

I don't give a shite. Aint no way I could walk off from a human being in need like that. I would have helped that man and lived with any consequences that would have come from it. Let's just say he did help that guy and Fed Ex fired him. That guy would have multiple job offers and a ton of money in a Go Fund Me account by the end of the week. But that isn't why you help the man. You help him because its the right thing to do.

Father with dementia and likely frequent falls. Let’s blame the fedex guy.

If she put 1/10th of the effort into hiring a sitter that she put into posting the video, he would not have fallen.

Let’s say he helps the guy up with the broken hip and the guy falls again on the same hip, or has a broken neck. FedEx gets sued for dropping the guy or moving a guy with a broken neck. Should call 911, but daughter is more to blame than random fedex guy.

Daughter gets him a ring doorbell but not an “I’ve fallen and can’t get up” lifealert button to wear around his neck? Again I say, shitty daughtering.

Can't blame him, I personally don't help women I don't know personally because there's been several sexual harrassment charges by women against men who helped them.

Not gonna argue that, but what would a phone call to 911 cost FedEx or driver?

To be fair, it’s not crazy for someone to pause before just picking up an old person who has fallen. If they have broken bones, you can potentially cause further injury by moving them if you don’t know what you’re doing. Old people are fragile. So if you see an old man you’ve never met who has fallen and can’t get up, calling 911 and letting the paramedics handle it is a perfectly reasonable response.

Problem is that in this case, the FedEx driver apparently didn’t even do that.

That's true. Realistically, there are people on the ground I'd help up, and people I wouldn't feel safe helping up.

What I would not do is shout out "sorry, can't help you, champ" from 50 feet away... and if I did, it would have absolutely nothing to do with some crummy job.

What if he had a broken hip?

When my Grandpa fell I made him lay all the way down & slowly move his legs
Gave him a minute to make sure nothing was hurting him before helping him up

There is no reason for someone that age who is home alone to not have a medical alert device

At some point you have to start doing the right thing.. It's a bitch move to leave the old guy laying on the porch.

“Boss” is a pejorative term used for whites by some minorities who evidently think of themselves as truly inferior. I’ve been called “boss” by blacks, whites, and Arabs, the joke is on their dumb asses, however.

I don't think that plan is incompatible with being a FedEx driver, and I don't think you have to be some kind of trained expert to use it. It just seems like good sense to me.

People are going to have to start using their heads and their hearts again, instead of acting like giant raging pussies, if we're ever going to dig ourselves out of the incredibly shitty situation we're collectively in right now.
