Having been there I know there are no words that can soften that blow.
Sending love and light you and your’s way.

Your Mom sounds like a really special woman, very sorry for her loss.

Sorry to hear of your loss. When the times get hard and the void feels really deep, remember what she would’ve wanted for you. It’s sad to think about, but everything our parents do for us is to prepare us to live without them. Use the gifts she gave you to shine for others and keep her spirit alive.

I lost my mom last year. It was rough for the first 6 months. Then I realized she was pain free in the arms of our Lord. Now, I'm grateful for all the things she taught me.
Sorry for your loss. Prayers.

It will eventually get easier. I buried my Dad and then my Mom six weeks later over 12 years ago. I still miss them both very much.

Condolences for your loss.
Hope I don’t have to go through that for a long time.

Tomorrow will be over and you can breathe out and remember good things.
I don't remember either of my Parent's funerals. I was there physically. The other memories flooded my mind.

She had her stomach removed on the day after Christmas in 2023. She rapidly lost weight and went through one round of treatment, but refused it afterward.
I wanted to post her obit picture, because my Dad picked a picture from a date they were on at Pat O's in 1983, and she looks beautiful. Then I realized the sleuths of the OT could reverse search the picture, with too much personal info.
I don't think anyone will be there tomorrow, besides my father, my husband & myself. They came to Florida, so our extremely small family is too far, or too busy.
Being a pallbearer for my Mom will be painful. I did it for my GG-Aunt, Uncle & Grandmother on my Dad's side. Those were hard, but tomorrow will be...
Thank you all, especially to my amazing husband, for being so supportive.
On the Monday after she passed, my boss asked (after being informed) "How was everyone's weekend?" I quipped "Aside from my Mom dying yesterday, it was ok." Humor is better than tears. I think the tears will flow tomorrow.
She planned to give me up for adoption, she was a 20 year old kid. She kept me and met the best Dad a girl could have.
I was given every opportunity, by this woman. She loved adrenalin. Rollercoasters, fast cars, sports. She graduated high-school with a draftsman path. She was a volunteer of SVDeP, in Baton Rouge, holding the first ever female district council President role. She homeschooled me. She took in every stray she ever came across, taking them to Dr. Alberti on Greenwell Springs, and giving them to good homes.
I asked her if she was scared of dying, and she vehemently answered "No!" She was a faithful woman. When I saw her the weekend before she died, she couldn't communicate much, but waved, blew kisses and said "I love you".
If I have repeated previous posts, I apologize, I am dreading tomorrow. Thank you, espicially to mfiwd.
