Ask bmac, he sends posters his used electronics so I'm sure he'd be willing to send you an MLB ready bat

Your wife and kids need to learn a lesson too. I'll be in the market soon.

no, but want him swinging the heavier bat over the next year in practice to start getting used to the -3.

Not trying to be a dick but it's never a good idea to swing a heavier bat than what he's ready for. It forms bad habits like dropping the hands. I don't know how old your kid is but the earliest they should swing a -3 is 14-15

find an 8th grader who is taking wood shop. They can make it for you custom, on a lathe.

He is 13. He has been swinging a drop 5 this past season. He can swing a drop 3.

He will have to use a drop three in less than a year (summer high school ball). So we are getting a jump on it. This is not uncommon.

Oh trust me, I know people do it. That's why I said something. You may not think 2 ounces is much but it's enough to cause bad habits at that age. He'll have no problem transitioning to the -3 as a ninth grader if he has good form, I promise.

I used to always enjoy hitting the mizuno bamboo ones back in HS bp. Felt like they swung lighter and had a nicer sweet spot than the rest. No idea on the price though. But not a bad idea if it's reasonable and you're trying to get him used to the - 3.

ETA: Have some on Amazon for between $45-60.

I know Binds used a 32.5", but I doubt BMac has a 31" bat laying around. That is short as hell.

Not sure how much they cost now ($50-$60 10 years ago) or if they have changed at all but the standard Mizuno maple was probably the best quality cheap maple bat I used. Really durable and well balanced for younger players.
