You seem to be under the failed understanding this is the limit of Musks government funding.
What companies haven’t received some form of federal, state or local government funding?
This is such an odd argument.

Point being, Tesla gets more scrutiny over most other companies because of what their technology means to the world. That's just a fact whether it's warranted or not.
But looking at this thread and seeing the content of most detractors, that is not the case at all.

Tax credit =/= lower than market rate government loans
I'll ask for a third time, are you barred from starting a company that would qualify for those loans and take them? They are the same thing. Meet criteria X become eligible for benefit Y.

In fairness to Roger, on this page, he finally attempted to explain why.
Can you get billions of startup capital from the fed?

I'm glad TD.com wasnt around when Union Pacific was laying track to connect the coasts. No telling what furor would erupt from the government's role and cheap arse labor.

Here you go.

All of the $3 million donated by that group, Energy Choice for America, came from SolarCity. The beneficiaries are candidates who have signaled their willingness to be part of the “green machine” that greases the skids for lucrative government subsidies.
Burning through taxpayer dollars, buying elections, and expanding a network of crony capitalism has become so inherent to the SolarCity model that $3 million to a public commissioner’s race, brazen though it may be, is only a drop in the bucket for Musk and SolarCity.
In 2013 alone, SolarCity received $127.4 million in federal grants. The following year, in which it received only $342,000 from the same stimulus package, total revenue was just $176 million and the company posted a net loss of $375 million.
Despite an expansion of operations and claims to be the leader in the industry, SolarCity never has been able to survive without serious help from government subsidies and grants. The failure to responsibly turn taxpayer dollars into a profitable renewable energy provider has led to SolarCity’s collapse into the welcoming arms of Tesla.
I do not have the money to pay the appropriate politicians

Yet these men are currently reviled as robber barons.
When the govt teet dries up, so will Musks empire.

Now, do the same research on Boeing.

Can you get billions of startup capital from the fed?
Is there anything at all stopping me from building my own company to do this? No
If I'm single with no kids, can I get tax breaks afforded to those with kids?
Kinda kills your point, no?

Same shite.

And I’ll never understand why people hate the businessman that takes free money from the government when offered. That is just smart business.
I wonder if we can think of any other revered businessman who has seized on loopholes and tax breaks when possible
I'll rack my brain for one...

Bad link.
But how is any of this solely attributable to Musk. Your criticisms seem to be directed at certain attributes of the system itself. Which is fine, just hardly something that only involves Musk.

So, cronyism = using the tax code as it's written.

According to some of your arguments in this thread, yes. But your arguments haven’t been consistent.

OK I agree with this and think Tesla is grossly over valued, has nothing to do with your dumbass argument that you can't take those incentives.

Look, it's ok to be wrong, just admit it and move on. I'm actually more on your side in regards to Musk and his companies than someone like she, but you said and then backed up dozens of times something incredibly stupid.
