Market value is very different from company valuation.

I take tax exemptions that are offered to everyone. Not remotely related.

Musk is a crony capitalist.

That are available to everyone, yes.

The Big 3 are subsidized much more than Tesla, are their valuations phony?

Also, a lot of the dollar value on Tesla's subsidies has not even been realized yet, and from what I understand, what they have borrowed, they have already paid back in full with interest, so...

Probably should have phrased it better.

That is Scruffy's fault.

The overall point is that Musk’s company does not meet the market value it is currently holding due to certain outside forces, i.e. federal money.

I fail to see the distinction, and no, not every deduction is available to everyone, nor are those payments.

These tax credits were available to every carmaker, and even more subsidies were taken by other automakers, but we only focus on Musks's subsidies...why is that?

Scruff, as mentioned earlier, Musk paid back dollar for dollar of any subsidy given to build Tesla years ago. The only automaker to do so. You can't factor that money now.

I suppose if you drive a Ford or GM make, you're a welfare queen.

So instead of laughing, explain it to me. The guy has actually built stuff.

I get that he makes you mad. It just seems irrationally placed in my opinion.

This thread and last couple of pages basically proves this, it shows guys will just parrot what they hear and read on here without really realizing all that is actually going on.

Other carmakers receive wayyyyyy more in subsidies than Tesla, but here we are talking about Tesla subsidies...for the 18899898th time.

And yet you seemed concerned with "who we all should respect" . . .

quote:

God no. I don't watch Fox News.

See, now that is a psychologically interesting response.

Is it to be assumed that whatever news source you use, is what is telling you who you should respect? Is respect function of the individual or a function of a collective?

It's the classic, "When he does it it's bad, but when I do the same thing it's TOTALLY different" response.

That's it, nothing more/nothing less.

Roger and CAD a have a hard on for hating Musk for some reason. You can’t reason with them.

Me stating that probably means I worship him or something.

Don't get mad at me for simply disputing a stupid article and topic. Did I upset you by correlating Trump which began with a quote re: promoting oneself to thrive in business?

And, since Tariffs will force prices of American goods artificially higher. . .basically anything.

One disastrous tweet has finally revealed Elon Musk for what he is: a fraud.

He has yet to succeed at anything

I'm no big Musk fanboy, but good gracious this article is disingenuous at best. I guess if shooting rockets into space isn't "succeeding at anything", then we all need to reevaluate our goals in life.

And if he indeed is a fraud, it's surely not because of a few bone headed tweets. What an asinine declaration.

The real con with Musk is that he's figured out how to dupe the gov't and get tax payers to pay for much of his work. Call him a fraud because of that if you want, but every company out there would do the same if they could, not to mention many indeed do the same.

The difference with him is that he has promised to change the world with his technology, so he's constantly under the microscope, and to this point has not really delivered.
