on 12/3/19 at 10:15 am to Dantheman504We need the Autobahn rules for 12. All semis, trailers (boat, camper, lawn equipment ) and trucks (campers, uhauls,etc) over 6 tons must stay in the right hand lane and are not allowed to pass.

I-35 between Dallas and San Antonio is the worst I have ever experienced and I drive I-12 every day.

More so the blame is the back to back entrance/exit ramps, not to mention there is no main artery other than I12 to get from Mandeville to Covington so a lot of it is local traffic.

Ummm Highway 190?
And 12 doesn’t take you from Covington to mandeville. 12 runs East west while Covington is almost directly north of mandeville

1) going through Madisonville - terrible traffic in morning and afternoons
2) going either down Boston or over Claiborne hill - both terrible options for multiple reasons
3) the interstate - which with the exits so close to the bridge are, as we all know well, is a fricking nightmare
I blame it all on the Tchefuncte river.

on 12/3/19 at 11:00 am to VanRIchOh it can absolutely be blamed on geography. The real issue is that in order to get around the north shore triangle of Madisonville, Mandeville, Covington, there are only 3 roads: 190, 22, 21.
The parish grew so rapidly, especially after Katrina, that all of these roads collectively containing 8 lanes just couldn’t handle the traffic.
Sure you can try to take the long way around (from Covington) of either 59 or 1085 to 1077, but getting to those roads is also hard now again because of all the people.
I have no clue how to fix it, so God bless you north shore peeps. I grew up there in a simpler time with fewer people and traffic
