Anyways, this DUMB arse STATE led by the used car salesman, snake oil rep Governor is more worried about making Kratom illegal than building 1-2 lanes on each side of I-12

Agree that the gov is a royal POS. But the entire interstate system can’t be 6-laned all at once. We’ve got a metric shite ton of backlogged road work. They just widened the worst sections of 12 in St. Tammany. There are now bigger fish to fry elsewhere in the state.

Ahhh, makes sense. Did you get on I-12 at the Denham, Juban, or Walker on ramp?

The extra lanes on the other side of Livingston need to be extended for the entire route and the intersection of 12 & 55 needs a major overhaul (see also: Airline) while from BR to Denham needs a legit service road on either side. Hell, even just an entrance/exit lane which went from one entrance ramp to the next exit would be a help.

they definitely need to fix the 12/55 intersection and should also 3-lane the road from Albany to Airport rd in Hammond.

Ironically, the drive from Slidell to the Westbank is complete dogshit. First you have to get through Mogadishu, then you have to deal with the bullshite High Rise. Then you get to go and battle dickheads trying to cut you off on the ramp that goes to St. Charles/GNO in front of the Dome...and then you cross the GNO to met with next level tard drivers of the WestBank....that stretch of 12 you mention ain't shite

I’ve been asking my friend’s politician dad about this for years.

Crazy how low a priority 3x3ing I-12 for its entire length is for the state. It wouldn’t even be difficult to do because they’ve prepped the bridges already in Livingston Parish and the stretch from Covington to Slidell has a head start. That would solve most of the issues.

Along with replacing the shitty cloverleaf interchanges at I-55 and Airline highway with high speed stack interchanges.

You sound like that guy on cruise control that just sit in people's blind spots instead of completing a timely pass.

They are doing this now in the Covington Madisonville area. Will it not continue west? What role does the federal government play in the expansion?

Like two governors ago they were going to continue east from Livingston. But that stopped for unknown reasons.

They need to fix the shitty Airline highway cloverleaf too. If you look at the afternoon traffic map you can see how traffic backs up horribly there due to the crappy merge and exit design and opens up after Airline highway. But I’ve never heard any official say a single thing about that interchange.

That's a great theory but there are a lot of slow drivers that aren't driving 18 wheelers or know how to pass and get over (see the Basin bridge for example). I'm not a fan of big trucks but I don't think they're entirely at fault. People don't pay attention which accounts for the majority of the issues on the mostly straight road. It should've been three lanes in each direction years ago. At the rate they're expanding it, they should be working on making it four lanes each way.

Drivers are dangerous, roads are lines that poor drivers (1%) cannot navigate.

Scum of the earth. Heard the plaintiff lawyers on Hard Rock may be losing $ at this point. Nice that hundreds of defense lawyers are fleecing their clients for 10s of millions too ...
