I-10 Metairie westbound resurfacing

Does anyone know why they are resurfacing I-10 westbound between the Orleans parish line and causeway? Other than the obvious to waste money

Because they'd rather spend the money on something they don't need rather than resurfacing I-12 in Baton Rouge or keeping the catch basins clear in New Orleans.

Because they got federal money to resurface the roadway. Can't use it for other stuff likely.
