There’s no shoulder there. I’m sure the potato cops thought everyone would somehow see them at the top of the big hill. They should have blocked off the left lane back down before the hill so this wouldn’t happen.

Bruh. When I used to commute from Broussard to Baton Rouge the cops would hang out on the shoulder to radar and cause a traffic pile up. I'm convinced that this was more dangerous than the baw going 11 mph over the speed limit.

Been stuck right at the bottom of the bridge since just before 7am. The officer and dotd both had their lights on, you could see them from the butte la rose exit, all lights went dark about 30 seconds before I got to the bridge. Other passing officers said the officer involved was fine but other vehicle involved, I’m assuming the dotd driver, was who got airlifted out. First time I’ve seen two air evacs at one scene.

So may things could have happened, not just FedEx truck. Maybe he was avoiding others that tried to avoid, etc etc.
Bottom line is they have gotten too relaxed when working on spots and just are safety first anymore.
