Hypothetical: a person hospitalized for pneumonia tests + for both cv19 AND type A flu.

Would the doctors assume cv19 is the reason for the pneumonia or the flu?

Would it be counted as both a flu AND cv19 hospitalization?

Hospitals need to start preparing for this predicament, because I don’t want to see a scenario where flu season hits and people are hospitalized for it and also found to have cv19 at same time, and see an artificial rise in cv19 hospitalization

You don’t know. Probably going to treat it the same anyway so it doesn’t really matter which caused it.

Not many of us think critically on this issue like you and I, but hopefully the hospitals have done their thinking on this issue

Not sure it matters what caused it or how it's recorded.

Probably, but again not sure it matters.

It's not really a "predicament" as far as recordkeeping. It's just a matter of capacity.

Why would you characterize it as "artificial"?

I'm sure they have done their thinking on it as it pertains to their capacity to handle the load. You seem to be concerned with the political aspects of reporting, which I would hope docs and hospitals are NOT concerning themselves with.

Nah, that was sarcasm. I am too over it to let it occupy any space in my head anymore.

If test positive it's COVID.
Birx made this clear long ago.

Well if they have flu and COVID how do you know what exactly is causing them to have enough respiratory distress to need to be hospitalized?

And I know AZ just mandated by Governor executive order that we (hospitals) will be required to daily report numbers of all those hospitalized with confirmed or suspected flu on top of our daily reporting of COVID numbers (which I still help to calculate/report as part of my job).

ETA: so sounds like AZ is preparing for a way to separate these two groups. But if you test positive for both...you are counted in both groups.

If someone dies, it is COVID19.

Death——test- negative= COVID19

Death——test- positive- COVID19

Death—- no test- COVID19

It’s science!

Covid-19 has been causing pneumonia since day 1.

Get ready for a very large number of "CovidFlu" deaths this year. The media will have a field day with this one.

What COD would trigger the higher reimbursement from the government/ insurance company? That one will be the one the hospital uses.

Flu could cause the pneumonia. So could covid. It would be impossible to know which.

Are you retarded?

You're saying reporting a guy in the hospital with covid is an "artificial" covid stat.
