Disclaimer: This is just one possibility 7 days from now.

The 18Z today GFS now has this monster hitting Corpus but the cloud shield extends from the mouth of the Miss. R. to south of Brownsville.

Also 945 mb pressure which is unusual for the GFS to show something that strong this early before a center even forms.

I guess the upper level winds will be favorable if something forms and makes it into the Gulf.

Yeah, the upper levels look pretty benign. Especially if this is somewhat organized. Also, bring this discussion to the new thread.
