What's the error in a 72 hour forecast? I thought it was about 50 miles east or west of that center line.

The average National Hurricane Center forecast track error at 72 hours is ~80 to 90 nautical miles (~90–100 statute miles). The 50-mile mark represents the typical NHC track error at 36 to 48 hours, rather than 72 hours.

Anyone know where I can buy toilet paper in bulk? Only have 5 cases and I usually like to have 15-20 stocked up.

I was saying 50 miles either east or west of the spot of predicted landfall, meaning a potential total of 100 miles. Is that wrong?

The cone is the error. I think it shows one standard deviation from the projected centerline at each forecast time.

I asked earlier, were the preliminary coordinates from the small gulfstream aircraft they were supposed to fly today? Did that take place?

I know they were planning to fly one of the big boys tomorrow.
