That's been an odd storm. When it was near some Japanese islands the highest winds were well away from the inner eyewall. James Reynolds did a good job documenting it from one of the islands. He thought he had missed the worst of it, but ended up getting higher winds than the eye had. Interesting.

The forecasts are showing that it has begun the transition from tropical to extratropical. The wind field is probably expanding as it starts to unwind.
There may be some pretty good video as sunrise locally is at 6:00 AM (4 PM CDT) in a little over 2 hours.
Looks like landfall will be pretty close to Geoje - population of ~250,000.

I took a long look at the GEFS yesterday afternoon and it was almost comical how hostile the deep tropics looked to be mid month.

That was a good reminder for me to text my brother in the US Air Force in South Korea at Osan.
The people and the media over there don’t over hype the weather events as much.
They would probably take a 100 MPH storm on the chin and be back to normal the next day barring any severe flooding.
