Wake me up when it is there at least at the 00z. Happy hour is just as likely to blow it up only to have the 00z kill it. I've seen this show before.

This one is interesting.

It is deep enough SW where the shear/dry air hammering waves in the MDR isn't so much an issue. Shear is reasonably light in the Eastern Caribbean.

Most interesting feature of the summer to this point.

I'll give you that even though I suspect the GFS is setting us up for a reverse happy hour sliparoo.

ETA: Upon looking at the ensembles....maybe.

I'd pay to see them fly around in a Cat 4.

I'm not sold just yet, but a plausible genesis scenario from the GFS has my attention. Especially since I've been half watching that wave for just this potential for a couple of days now.

Well I just vacationed in gulf shores so that GFS will likely actually happen. My dad made the joke while we were all down there that it will get wiped out after we leave, because everywhere we vacation to always has a terrible disaster right after we leave. We visited Nola and Bay St Louis 2 weeks before Katrina. I went to Panama City with friends a month before Michael hit to pick up a boat I ordered from a dealership there.

Another MDR false alarm? I'll hold my breath until a storm actually forms in the MDR this season. Also, I think we might see an area closer in highlighted before that potential system could do anything.

Yeah, the lemon might go orange soon if we get a few more GFS runs like that.

Do you expect that to make it to the northern gulf coast?

Mid Atlantic or fish storm.

I mean, maybe, but to see the starting point and have this be your first thought doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

If the GFS had it's way Mobile would have already been hit by five hurricanes this season. Wait for an actual trend. There's some ensemble support, at least, for this one.

I think he's talking about the original title, for 90L or whatever it was before this one.

If the forecasted track is off by several degrees, that’s going to be way off over the course of 258 hours.
