Baws, I aint saying season cancelled and Im not talking about how quiet the models are with storms.
Its how the upper lows are in the Bermuda Ridge. Its keeping the Atlantic hostile despite all systems being "Go" otherwise.

Wasn't there a recent year, maybe 2016 where the Caribbean was absolutely hostile with ULL's?

Interesting wave off of South America that could be something to watch in a few days. Could sneak into the carribean then either head north into Eastern Florida, which is an October style path, or potentially into the gulf.
Everything is still so sloppy out there though, and looks pretty quiet for late August.

On some of the other weather sites, there's a lot of head scratching going on.
A few think the Tonga volcanic eruption has something to do with the quiet, others think something called "wave breaking" does.

It's very common in threads like the one on 99L on another site. People were going crazy, shitting on the models, saying it would ramp up and slam Corpus Christi, etc.
Anyone with a brain knew it wasn’t even going to get named. Models nailed it.

Do you go to other weather sites? There's a poster named Aric that jumps in a thread, argues with a few professional meteorologists, then bails. He did that for 99L.

No I see them mentioned here a lot but I’ve never taken the time to look at any of them.

Odds of the Atlantic not seeing a named storm in Aug is looking more realistic by the day Since 1880, ~2/3rds of Atlantic hurricane seasons w/ 0 named storms in Aug coincided w/ El Nino. Fwiw, all the Non-Nino yrs except one (1961), occurred in the "cold phase" of the AMO Womp

I made a burb about this a few weeks ago. I guess those Met boards are finally catching up instead of hyping the latest swirl on satellite or the latest 384H GFS model.

GFS running right now shows that south American system developing in a few days, heading toward the Caribbean. This should get people talking again.

Ummm yeah. We’re not talking 10 days out anymore. Have some serious doubts on the modeled trough as well.

Wake me up when it is there at least at the 00z. Happy hour is just as likely to blow it up only to have the 00z kill it. I've seen this show before.

Cat 2 hurricane headed into the gulf, but hopefully away from us. Looks like it wants to visit Florida.

I know, baw, I know. But it's something to talk about.

The other site is already losing its collective shite over this run, doom and gloom for Florida.

Mid Atlantic or fish storm.

Cat 4 headed to Pensacola on this run. The GFS is snorting coke.

Since I'm a sucker for downvotes, gimme!
And this is a long arse ways out.
