I’m not gonna get all worked up unless it’s zeroed in on Louisiana 48 hours before landfall. With thousands of miles between where this non-existent system is now and us, I like our odds.

It absolutely is, just not where the GFS thinks it'll develop.
Below are the EURO ensembles -- which is a little different than the operational EURO model in that the operational uses all the ensembles to create its official run - which still isn't an official forecast.

frick Lake Charles, the whole damn state of Louisiana doesn't need another one anytime soon. We need a good 7-10 year break. Louisiana gets hammered again this year and we're all gonna be insured by LA Citizens.

That's a stretch. A few members hit and then they don't. We may start seeing a trend now, but we haven't seen a discernible trend on anything yet, ensembles or operational.

Unless I've been looking at the wrong thing, I've seen a significant number of ensembles popping off in the Caribbean and Gulf around the referenced timeframe for the past week or so.
