A couple of things to take away from the 10 pm.

The path shifted a tiny bit west and Nate is now moving NW instead of NNW like it was at 8 pm which means it will eventually hit a point farther west.

Looks pretty disorganized this evening. Hopefully, the lack of a true inner core prevents Nate from taking advantage of that fuel.

The core appears to be in better shape than it looked earlier. The new NHC discussion touches on this and some recent images confirm.

Notice the red hook on the western side of the center, there is now very deep convection associated with that even before moving back over water.

Meth... errr speed. Its rate forward motion and a bit of shear.

Rds I don't like that cone ... please erase and redraw elsewhere. We're on the far western edge ... 5 or so miles from intracoasal. Ugh.

Well rapid intensification is 35mh or higher in a 24 hour period, why would that not happen?

The predicted forward speed is nuts. Someone from earlier is right. This is the kind of storm that rolled through before the 1960s and unexpectedly wrecked shite.

You're out on Pontchartrain Beach having a whale of a time with your best gal in her one piece then suddenly the winds pick up and the surge blows in and you dead. You dead, man.

It's like some of you have never been through a hurricane before.

If a storm is projected to hit SE LA, there are going to be hurricane/storm surge watches to the east, usually to the AL/FL border, or thereabouts.

This thing is basically going to go from the Yucatan to making landfall in LA in 24 hours.

Actually I have Slackster. Opal, Ivan, too many to remember. But I have never had my phone alert me that a hurricane is coming. 10 minutes later my phone alerted me saying a TS is coming.

Dude chill it's just kind of a joke nobody is serious about that. Nothing anyone says has any effect on what storms do. It's just funny that he is almost always wrong
