hasn't even hit the hottest water yet.

Good news is the hottest water is under some shear. It will be interesting to see how the storm handles shear while being over the loop current

Do you have a link to the max potential map for the Atlantic basin? The one where it shows the lowest pressure attainable currently? Used to have it and I don't remember who provides it.

Just to show how much of an anomaly Milton is. This is the first category 5 on RECORD moving in a southeasterly direction.
damn I figured that it had to be unprecedented based on just never seeing anything like that before

Same. Everyone is downvoting but evacuating south is questionable if the storm turns and we have no rental. Disney has its own generators and the resorts are huge. Should be a cat 1 at orlando right? Worst case scenario is a tornado, but I think the resorts are big enough to shelter inside. The prospect of finding a rental, 4 car seats and evacuating a party of 11 to be stuck on the highway seems insane. The only plane tickets are $1200/ticket with multiple stops and a 12 hour travel time. There aren’t any good options, so might as well enjoy the empty parks and calm before the storm.

Yeah safety really isn’t the issue, it’s the inconvenience. Is it more inconvenient to evacuate pre storm or stay and deal with the storm and post storm crap?

Either way, your options kind of suck.

Disney is supposed to be N of the Eye

The eye moved, Baw. The map Cosmo spoke of has it cutting across the edge of the Coronado Springs property.

This latest update also moves it N, with the eye going a few miles N of my house.

The amount of surge this track would push into Tampa Bay would be catastrophic

Leaving for Watersound Wednesday morning. Looks like inbound FL traffic will be minimal.

We are at Disney until Friday. Just hoping roads are open then and we can get north of here without too many issues.

We dont have any trees here and our house is locked down. Just a couple chairs out back that I will toss in the pool Wednesday.

Im weighing leaving to Ft Lauderdale or staying. I may wait till in the morning then make a move.

Nah, Disney is probably the safest place in Florida right now. Why deal with the roads and mayhem when you can enjoy the magical mouse?

The resorts will have food, and if safe activities do to at the resorts.
I gotta believe if the park is closed, the most popular activity will be bitching.
