Just heard from my boy

They made it through fine. Thank God

Of course he will still wonder why we are gonna drive to the Sonic when he comes up here for Thanksgiving. ;)

That's wonderful. Been following along hoping he'd be alright.

Only problem now is, he'll think he can stay for everything.

This simply was a Cat 1/2 as reflected by its maximum wind gust and tidal surge. WTF is going on? This doesn't make sense at all.

This was discussed before Milton hit.

The max winds and the max gusts seldom coincides with the NHC numbers. It’s often not close.

I saw an official report that a wind gust of 105 was recorded at the coast near Tampa Bay. That’s the highest reported.

Now we all know the storm rapidly declined. I’ve read that intensifying storms are more robust so I guess that a cat 3 declining is better than a cat 2 intensifying? It seems do, but I’m just speculating.

But it is important to be accurate so folks won’t slough off the next one just because it’s only a cat 3.

All OK here. No power or cell service at my house but no damage. Boat and business are also OK. Big cleanup today and hopefully get power and cell service soon.

that was a talking point with beryl on here or space city weather.

the wind seems to pack more of a punch outside of the eyewall on a storm that is intensifying which makes sense.

Amazing. Considering 48 hours ago, this seems a best case scenario all around.
