Anyone who goes back just because Milton dropped to a 2 is a fricking idiot.

Impressive signature for an outer band tornado. Looks like something you’d see in April or May.

Beats not leaving and then a Cat 4 slamming into Tampa Bay killing tens of thousands of people.

Reminds me of NW Louisiana when the hurricane remnants were dropping long lasting wedge tornadoes.

This is always the danger with storms like this. I understand you have to predict doom, but when it weakens like Milton is doing people lose trust and ride out the one that could actually wipe tampa off the map.

Is there a solution to this?

NHC is damned if they do and damned if they don’t. If it comes in weaker than forecast, everyone is mad. If they forecast it to be weaker and then it ends up stronger, everyone is mad.

No one outside of the weather community seems to care how hard these things are to forecast. Especially when people are unhappy about any forecast that isn’t 100% perfect.

This post isn’t directed at any of you, just the public in general.

5-day cone from Sunday 10 AM

The NHC sure did have the track down early.

I’m watching that too. Vero Beach has a massive tornado headed that way. I can’t even a watch the hurricane coverage because I’d rather watch all the Tornados popping off from the system

I’m not an expert but I’m trying to be positive

Honestly though it’s deteriorating fast, is likely a 2 now, and has several hours until landfall. I’m betting Cat 1 winds will be all that is verified onshore
