A category 3 isn’t weak and can still cause death and damages. I wouldn’t stick around.

Of course. It’s not catastrophic like a Cat 5, though.

It is so weird to me to see TikToks of major tornadoes with emoji captions. Just a strange juxtaposition between the most serious and the most unserious

Now that I have been here 4 years or so with one, I could not imagine having a pool here without one. There are pros and cons and the pros are triple the cons

Hell I live in North Alabama and I would like one just for the leaves.

Yeah there was plenty of head scratching when Helene made landfall as well.

There’s a huge difference in a weak category 3 and a category 5.

Yes, I’m aware a hurricane of any sort can cause damage. Thank you.

Seriously, who cares? It's still going to wreck the Sarasota area.

I've stayed out of this thread, but I think you're bad juju for hurricanes.
I would stay out of the Tampa area if I were you

I think the tornadoes will cause more catastrophic damage at this point than hurricane winds will unless Milton has a sting jet in its back pocket

Meh, Katrina was a 5 that weakened to a Cat 3 at landfall. Still catastrophic because despite the wind going down, its still a Cat4/5 surge coming through

Does this upset you? If so, you’re a fricking psychopath

Whether a cat 3 or 5 the key to these storms on our coast is the direction the wind is kissing the water. That’s the key.

Katrina was a much larger hurricane than this with a huge hurricane force wind swath.

I’ll be shocked if any sustained winds over 100mph are found upon landfall

Surge

That’s why I specified wind damage.

I’m still concerned but highly intrigued by Milton’s ability or inability to push surge.
