Is there a good barometric pressure map available?
If we know the barometric pressure at the center of the storm and the pressure surrounding the storm we can take the differential pressure and calculate the pressure component of the storm surge pretty easily.

I got all my debris picked up luckily yesterday but Tampas a whole other story.
I know they’ve been busting their asses, but there are still neighborhoods with the contents of gutted homes sitting in piles by the curb.
I’m sure it’s like this all over the west coast.

Any news on spring hill?
I’ll be able to fill you in there.
One of my best friends from pharmacy school , they live in Tampa.. but evacuated to Spring Hill where their parents live to get away from the worst of it

You can see the expansion here too. Hurricane force winds at flight level pretty far out on the east side. Posted on 10/9/24 at 8:26 am to Billy Blanks

About 185 miles from Longboat Key right now - if it were to travel straight there.

I am sure ole baw has done the math and figured out the exact placement of those straps and how deep the anchors have to be.

I don’t know where your house is going, but I do know where it’s not going: anywhere.

Am I wrong? The Katrina comparison has to do with dropping quickly from a 5 to a 3 with an ever expanding wind field and what that means for surge. It is certainly applicable here. Is it quite as large? No. But the behavior is going to be very similar. You missed that point.
You must never compare a storm to Katrina here. It is the sacred cow of which all other storms fall short

I just glued a barometer linked to my phone to a piece of pvc pipe with a mini parachute.
Gonna see if my cropduster buddy will take me up into Milton in his Cessna, I’ll get a central pressure reading for y’all.
