I was looking earlier and it seemed like tratfic was pretty good for the most part. I don't know if that is a good sign or a bar sign.

I think it's good. People in Florida know the routine.

888 was Gilbert. Easy to remember because it was 1988

Do people outside of SWLA not think that Rita caused devastation or something?

I had a cousin in Moss Bluff that Rita was kind enough to send a 14' river over her house.

If you are in a house on the coast, anywhere within a couple of miles of landfall, you can kiss the baby. Especially on that south side.

Milton's feeling skrong, and he's carrying a swingline.

Where is the best place to get the latest track as it crosses Florida? I’m looking for rain totals and expected wind more inland than Tampa and Sarasota. Thanks in advanced!

O/U on how many little D1 babies will result from the party.
Our oldest was conceived the afternoon Charley made landfall. He was born early and the NICU staff in Orlando was the first to point it out that would start to see babies named some version of Charley.

I've got a college buddy who moved over here from Texas in 2007. He always made comments about how we referred to Rita as "the storm" and used it as a reference of time, like referring to events as happening "before the storm". He was always fascinated by that.

Fast forward to 2020 and now he is a home owner with a family still living in the area dealing with the aftermath of Laura. He said it all made sense to him at that point.

Latest GFS for location (don't look at pressure since it appears model was initialized with way too high of a pressure???)

Anyone think the hype/freakout about Milton is similar to the freakout over Rita after everyone saw what Katrina did?

So if people shouldn't freak out over this storm, what parameters do you think meet the freak out point?
