Thanks. Very north end of Seminole Road

Oh you fancy. Should be ok as you are a good bit away from the intracoastal, but that is just a guess on my part.

Neither were a Cat 3 in Covington, nor did Covington take a direct hit for either lol.
Theres just no winning ever in these threads

Everything gets taken out of context so all the little keyboard warriors can try to land a gotcha for some updoots and feel cool

Regardless of that being completely untrue that Ida and Katrina werent Cat 3s or worse at landfall which is what we were conversing in comparing to Milton, how does you saying that help the argument that I said people as far inland of Orlando don't have to evacuate (based on their own news outlet telling them it wasnt necessary)? Milton will be a cat 3 or worse at landfall, Orlando may very well be as close to the center track as covington/mandeville was for those storms, and Orlando is just about as far inland as Mandeville/Covington area.

So by directly over - you mean the eye?

Doesn’t matter that Betsy landed as a Cat 4 and Nola was in the north east quadrant?

I was almost 4 years old for Betsy and I remember that shite vividly. We were living in Metairie and it didn't flood ( at least on Belmont Pl) But there were many houses that had wind damage.

You explicitly said that Ida and Katrina were Cat 3s in Covington. Neither were remotely close to Cat 3 strength when they passed 30+ miles away from covington.

know a lot on this board likes to fashion themselves as super rugged individuals that can take on anything nature throws at them, but very very few have experienced an actual direct hit by a Cat 3+.

Yeah I fought this fight in here one time with simply Cat 1 winds and it was a shite show

People are notoriously terrible at telling you how strong the wind is and how high the waves are. If someone tells you they had 100mph gusts or they were in 2-4 foot seas in their 24’ CC, you can safely assume it was 60mph gusts and 1-2 foot seas.

So she probably has more accurate memories than I do, especially if she lived in a different area of NO - 9th ward, etc.

All I can tell you is that I was fascinated and scared shitless at the same time. It was wild.
