I don't think so. Coastal radar just can't 'see' the backside of the storm

I think Okaloosa Island/Ft. Walton Beach may be the worst spot when it comes to surge. Seems like that will be where the most direct on shore flow will be based on the current movement of the eye/eyewall.

958mb, this is one stubborn system. The poleward outflow channel is kicking.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sure as hell glad they got the comms issue fixed with the radars along this stretch of the Gulf. What a mess that could have been.

We've got offshore spinnies and are hoping they don't become onshore spinnies.

Here is where the shear becomes a bad thing. It will help with tornado production as this moves onshore.

Extreme low-level wind shear lies ahead of the bands of supercells making their way onshore in the Florida Panhandle this afternoon, as evidenced by the most recent VWP from the Tallahassee radar. Tornado potential will only increase from here on out, with a few intense tornado vortex signatures already observed over the Gulf.

Guessing another half M shift east at 4 which will likely be final cone before landfall. Crab island might be landfall center

There is a SWA jet that appears to be flying into that area of weather. He's just going off of Panama City over the Gulf at 38,000 feet.

?????

Why?

He's the only one that far south.

You are correct. But thats the part im interested in.

I actually think the storm is following the track of radar pretty well at the moment. However it will be slightly more east. But not half an M. Maybe 1/4
