That place will grow back quicker that Kudzu.
My understanding is that it is basically "built" with the expectation that much of it will be wiped out in a storm and they can easily put it back together rather expeditiously not long afterward. It's not their first rodeo.
The whole place is basically just a bigger version of an old school LSU fraternity South Seas structure that drunk frat boys could put up over about a week or two.

Thank you for the continued updates - it is greatly appreciated.

This thing is looking raggedy on IR. Dry air pockets all over the entire eastern side. You can also see the northern envelope outside of the center circulation already flaring out, seemingly already interacting with the strong upper level shear.

It keeps trying to, or at least looking like it is trying to, clear an eye. Over the past half hour or so IR looked to be clearing an eye, but that area has again filled.

My wife and daughter left Fairhope about 2 hours ago. She said it looks like most everyone is bugging out. The roads headed north are very crowded.

Without looking, sounds like Isaias is doing the downshear convection and wrapping it into the shear and dryness.

Yep. Fails every time it tries to wrap around downshear.

I've had my own maintenance business the last few years and do a lot of association work. I've dealt with more a-hole guests today than the last 4 years maybe combined. Get the frick out of here

He could be right but I cant be the only one that thinks that storm looks like shite. Everything is pulled off to the north east its a completely 1 sided storm unless that IR shot is missing something.

And without looking, you were able to explain what’s happening far more eloquently than I was able to

Should we expect an EWRC tonight?

Wow, big move east with the google model.

It has struggled with this issue pretty much it's entire life.

Kinda needs a robust eyewall to start with.
This is one area this reminds me of Michael (to be clear... this will not be a Michael stength storm) but did the downshear convection game for the better part of a day. Eventually, it won and got cooking.
Just needs one of these convective bursts to wrap around and get a symmetrical core.

If you know anyone in panhandle who needs help have them DM this guy. He helped after Tampa and WV storms.

Hurricane Isaias is on the way to the panhandle. For those that have followed us for a long time, y’all know we always go help out clearing debris, trees, hand out food, cash, etc.
Just a few notes before it hits.
If you have a place to go out of the hurricane’s path….do it. You can’t beat Mother Nature.
If you plan on helping in aftermath. Some helpful tips to be more useful.
Don’t go to help clean up with a vehicle in questionable shape. More people break down going to help than you can imagine….
Overloaded trailers, shitty vehicles….and although intentions are good, you are now causing more traffic in a place that doesn’t need it.
Don’t take up hotel rooms when you’re helping….local people without homes or shelter will need those.
Cleanup wise if you wait 3 days after a hurricane and drive a neighborhood….we notice the people that haven’t started cleaning up are usually elderly or disabled…knock on the door and they probably can use your help.
Lastly be vigilant and be armed.
@DirtyHand77
and I have spent nights sleeping in our trucks while cleaning up neighborhoods after a hurricane….when it gets dark, thieves come out. And it’s not just a thing that rarely happens….we saw gangs of motorcycles running around the Tampa area at night checking houses.
If any of you guys need any help before or after it lands please give us a shout.
God Bless

Could the current posture indicate that it’s petering out?

Not for sure. It shows its definitely fighting shear. Easily this could steady state from here, as dry air seeps into the unfinished core. Then get its head ripped off at the coast.
But storms have been known to fight this off, especially when it has hurricane force winds already. If it does, this gets to a 3 before weakening on approach.
And I cant tell ya which one will happen.
