Straight into FloraBama.

i was at Florabama last summer and it was a fricking shitshow. went in the middle of the day because the beach was shut down for waves or something. they had literally one bartender at that middle bar making drinks for a couple hundred people who all had the same idea as we did. we finally gave up and left.

anyways, something something hurricane

OysterPoboy been sacrificing chickens, goats, anything he can get his hands on - to the weather gods.

Lot of folks on the coast gonna have a huge debt of gratitude to him, when this is all said and done.

This storm going to be a big test on these new AI model runs. The traditional hurricane models we are all used to favor a west track and the AI models favor the east track. I am fascinated that the NHC is favoring the AI models right now.

Will be interesting to see what ends up being right.

Nerd out moment is over.

yeah I mean if you look at the physics based ensembles only, you'd think New Orleans was going to be in some deep doo-doo.

If you like to nerd out Ryan does a lot of experimental stuff:

Ryan Maue
@RyanWeather

Today's GIS + Weather project: Beyond the Cone

Experimental displays of the hurricane center's historical track uncertainty with along-track/cross-track awareness, and re-sampling of historical errors.

Current Tropical Storm Isaias

BC the other wx question In working on is concerning when the mountain can make snow next week. Disorganized slop next week but is looking cool enough to get the guns blowing at night and maybe an inch or two down under 10,000' late wednesday into Thursdya

Anything is better than last season. I ditched Ikon for this season and will be Skiing all Epic. Breck 2x, Park City, Telluride and possibly a late season trip to Whistler.

New extrapolated pressure observation low of 988.7, but remember that is not a true reading. Actually 3 diff obs of extrapolated pressure in the 980’s. First pass where this occurred. Does suggest some deepening here.

Sustained winds not as strong on the W side of the eyewall on this true W to true E pass.

Awaiting dropsonde reading now. This should be last pass for this recon flight. Got another flight headed its way now.

I believe GDMI is being fed into the NHC model at this point. I may be saying that incorrectly but they do have a connection

Alright those who know better than me with this stuff. From what I can tell, this spaghetti plot, the 12z, is the EURO's most up to date one that was released this morning at 7:00am cst. Is that correct?

Because this looks new compared to the previous ones I've seen from the EURO. What am I missing or wrong about?

For comparison, I believe this was the previous one.

So if I'm understanding it correctly, the spaghetti model/plots from the 1:00pm cst run should be out this evening around 7:30pm

I know the forecast is still honed in on Gulf Shores, this just is so hard to ignore since it's the EURO.
