What's the easiest way for me to live stream if shite hits the fan? Periscope?

Yeah, periscope would be your best bet. Be sure to post the link for us.

This thread is full of bitching about the NHC/models missing it with Irma, so I thought this was worth sharing. This is where the NHC said Irma would be 120 hours ago:

At 8AM this morning, Irma's actual location was only 21 miles away from the precise coordinates the NHC predicted. That is fricking incredible.

That's what I've been saying. The storm is almost exactly where they said it would be Tuesday.

This map might be more relevant. This is the probability of storm surge greater than 3 feet above ground level, not sea level. This includes the tide, but not wave action.

Thanks. This provides additional help (anxiety?). Looks like my buddy is somewhere between the 20 and 50% range. It could be worse...

On the NHC Inundation map I could identify his street by a nearby turning basin. I can't even see the Caloosahatchie bridges on this one, sonits a little harder for me to pinpoint his location. You'd think these maps would have a feature allowing you to enter a street address. GET ON IT, GEEKS!!!

Within a couple miles, which is why I wonder what those few here were bitching about. That is scary accurate

That's in North Naples. If he wants to film some graphic stuff he has to go down in Old Naples in the area where 41 makes the sharp left turn. Or go to Naples Pier. I think that is where any flooding would first be apparent.

951 south from Hwy 41 is the road to go to Marco Island.

Their biggest "miss" is 72 hours ago when they were too far east by 115 miles, which is less than the distance between New Orleans and Lafayette as the crow flies.

Is the water on the backside of the islands significantly shallower than the Cuba-facing side?

NOrth of the Keys the water is shallow enough for sea grasses to grow in a limey ooze. (Think shallow enough for sunlight to penetrate several feet down, but not further).

South of the Keys, not deep going out to the reefs, and then very deep because of a subduction zone going down thousands of feet north of Cuba.

You can see a general picture of where the subduction zone is on the Google Earth map.

shite is getting real at home. You can hear trees starting to "pop" from bending so much. Winds are crazy. I can see I-75 in my backyard and not a car on the road. The wind is getting very loud, roaring. Still have power. Still feel safe.
