That model keeps it a hurricane level storm from Miami to Kentucky

That monster, if it did that track, would take out Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Jupiter Beach, West Palm Beach, Mar O Lago, and cause considerable damage to Melbourne, Cape Kennedy and probably quite a bit in Orlando, too.

what's everyone's opinion of the GEFS (not the GFS)?
that 1 swings Irma into the Gulf and makes landfall on Florida's west coast

My opinion of that is that if it comes into the gulf, that's as far west as it goes...like a slingshot around the corner. It wants to go north and the ridge pushing it south now won't let it...seems like florida is the path of least resistance and that it'll go that way instead of getting into the gulf, and if that ridge that is pushing it now lifts, maybe it still doesn't go to florida. Again, don't listen to me, I'm no expert. But if...IF.. that ridge settles on top of us, it won't let it come this way.

It looks like florida is putting it in Irmas B-Hole....but it's going to be the other way around.

These model runs keep shifting west, starting to piss me off..

First thing I noticed, at 48 tonight, the ridge is there and deeper than it was at 48 this afternoon. Immediate contradiction of the GFS. this is what I mean.
12z sunday
00z monday
and deeper at 72 on 00z

So Miami is getting a direct hit from a Cat 5? That means the city is finished right?
Posted on 9/4/17 at 1:08 am to lsu480
Euro has Irma just North of Puerto Rico at 72 hrs.
Posted on 9/4/17 at 1:19 am to TigerStripes06
So it(Midwest ridge) pretty much shuts the door on Irma to the gulf of mexico
