The Euro has had it turning north into Florida for awhile now except for a day or 2 where it was further East (closer to the GFS). Then the Euro shifted back west, closer to where it was initially.

It would be pretty funny if it never turned and just went straight on into Mexico.

Eye now visible on base reflectivity from the Key West radar. Center still looks well organized, despite it going back down to a category 4. I think this thing really could blow up as it moves over the Florida Straits.

Is there a cone from a week ago and a cone from today?

Every Irma cone from beginning to now.

why it's been delayed and keeps moving west

I'm no expert, have just been following along here, but the turn hasn't been forecasted to occur until today. So it's not been delayed at all

You would have been well within your rights to end that with ", fricking dumbass."

t will hit the panhandle after being projected to hit the mia/Carolinas 2 days ago and the model fan boys on here will still claim "it was within the cone".

So if it hits 800 miles from projections and people still claim the models got it right then idk what else there is to say except don't put faith in these models

The center of the NHC track took it north into Miami. Now the track is north into Naples.

That is a "miss" of 110 miles. Surely you're smart enough to know that a northward track through Miami would have taken it into Georgia or SC, and a northward track near Naples will take it into the Big Bend area, but thats due to the geography of the states themselves.

Morning Grrrl!

Nope shes doing exactly what the EURO and NHC has forecasted right now.

Everyone still saying she's a big hurricane but I tend to see a smaller one currently. Obviously this can change in the next ~18 hours.

They absolutely need to stop with the line up the middle of the cone with city names bolded like targets. That alone is costing millions of dollars in unnecessary evacuations.

Can someone show a prediction model form like 7 days ago, then 3 days ago, then now?

A model prediction 7 days out is pretty useless, but here is the Euro from Tuesday morning around 1AM.

Impressive how many of the models were incorrect on when the shift North would happen.
