Euro is getting underway

Remember everyone, Peej said east coast, so it's definitely not going there

00z Euro seems to put Irma very lightly in contact with Hispaniola in 120 hours
ETA: which is another southern move... which would be bad news

this run does not look promising. 144 hrs might have a weakness to the north

144 hours... again right up the arse of the Bahamas... continuing the theme of wanting to wipe the Bahamas off the map
but... it's another move to the SW

168 hours... Florida starting to feel some effects from Irma
Posted on 9/3/17 at 1:37 am to rt3
168 hours just destroying all of the Bahamas.

worth repeating...

so the Euro & GFS agree that the Bahamas is fukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkked

It's insane how it triples in size in like 3 days.

Looks like it will be a landfall in North Carolina this run..also two more systems out there.
Posted on 9/3/17 at 1:51 am to TigerStripes06
Carolinas still in the bullseye

Posted on 9/3/17 at 1:53 am to rt3
Almost perfect agreement on landfall between the two latest runs of gfs and euro.

yeah... people living between Florida & DC... I'd start getting a teeny bit concerned

Pretty much the only difference at this point is the euro continues the turn, and the gfs has Irma deep dicking all the way up through about Michigan.

Worse. It's going to be very, very bad wherever it goes. I'm not much of a praying man, but you can rest assured I've been asking God for a reprieve from this bitch for the last couple nights.

I know just enough about all of this simply from following these threads on a yearly basis, but I'm at a point where I have a lot of time on my hands and thought it'd be fun to really jump in and start understanding the science behind the storms
Does anybody have a good recommendation on where to start? Maybe a YouTube channel or a subreddit or just a reliable website that kinda answers basic questions?

Try tropical tidbits.com that's where we get all the models and stuff. On the home page the guy does videos that explain a lot, you kind of learn what to look for.
