You can try and act like a normal person sometimes, but when this post shows up in thread like this, it's easy to see what kind of tard we are dealing with here.

Your friend is a total fricking idiot for not evacuating with a one month old if he lives in Stuart. If he wants to die or get injured then more power to him but to bring a new born into this is selfish and dumb. He should have his child taken away from him.

My folks are far more likely to lose trees than us probably, but after taking a large pine on the house a few years ago they've culled back most of the scary ones.

Here in Buckhead we're just covered up with hardwoods and the City (understandably) won't let you get rid of them.

I'm headed south from east cobb. But not because of the storm. Planned trip. My neighbor has a bunch of dead pines standing in the back yard so I expect to see a mess. None are a risk to my house. I do expect to see damaged fences on two sides.

Th massive two pines in my front yard seem sturdy enough for a tropical storm.

I have 2 pines I'm worried about in my yard in Atl. Neighbor even asked my land lord a while back to split the costs to remove them.

IBM has been doing some big things with new medical diagonals, I'm not surprised they have some new weather model

After reading about the model I learned IBM bought The Weather Company, the Weather Channel's parent company. The Weather Channel stayed independent. IBM combined their computer models they already used for weather with TWC assets and Deep Thunder was the result. Pretty cool. It is basically the federal models/data on steroids.

Faster movement should move up the time frame it hits Florida correct?

It's not really moving faster than they anticipated though.

Reorganizing the book shelf is a sign of a Cat 6, so we aren't there yet...

What made all the models change and have it go a little more rest? Looks like Florida is going to take it straight on now.

That's why I'm not convinced this thing won't be a 5 when it makes landfall. She's sustained her intensity this long, and she's moving into warmer water here in the next day or so.

How hard do you think Tampa is going to get hit?

Too early to tell, but they could end up with some significant weather. May sound like a cop out, but the western trend is a relatively new development, so no way to really say for now.

NHC says Tampa has a 25% chance of seeing 64kt+ winds over the next 5 days, FWIW.
