I live in Bluffton as well. Matthew was our first big storm since moving here and flooding wasn't too bad outside of places right next to water and typical flash flooding like you see on 278 after heavy rain. HHI flooded worse than we did. What surprised me was the amount of trees that fell for a cat 1 storm. Don't want to think about what a bigger storm like this one could do

It hurt seeing what Matthew did to Hunting Island.

Pretty sure I read last night that there was a forced evacuation on burbuda before the storm hit. I hope that is true. It was nothing more then a coral island that may have only been a few feet above sea level to begin with.

FWIW you're not exaggerating too much - pressure washers average between 190-240mph exit velocity

Stays off Florida's coast and landfalls just north of Savannah.

I'm optimistic that the track will shift east more as we get closer to the weekend. That is just what always seems to happen.

I don't think they ever find the boat. I guess I was talking about the couple. It was a nice boat. Cute girl. Not smart, and I'm not sure why they were there. When she said they were riding around to see how everyone was preparing, it was a ghost town. Not a soul to be seen. That should have told her something. smh
I hope they're alive.

GFS ensembles look even better than the operational run for Florida. We'll see if this trend holds on the 12z runs.
