I will believe you. That would be incredibly devastating...

Scared what would happen to savannah and Charlestown for the historic aspect of things. South Florida obviously for the humanity impact.

Be interesting to see if there is another northern shift this afternoon.

I would be freaked out if I lived in Florida right now. Damn Irma is a colossal bitch!

The blue shed didn't get 150mph winds, either.

I'm seeing the highest readings were 103 mph sustained and 135 gusts for BARA9.

Everything I am seeing shows it hitting Naples and not going up the Atlantic coast.

It's great watching twitter and cold bitter people hoping it hits directly into Florida to affect mar a lago. Sick people out there.

I love twitter but I also hate the damn thing too. If they want to monetize it then let people pay to have features like not reading xyz etc..

Anyway it's amazing we can follow people on the ground in real time on an island most people never heard of while getting updated on the exact measurements of the storm and if the islands in the eye? At the same time the Euro is giving us predictions 5 days out its just incredible

i'm actually surprised it made 155, most of those weather stations usually clock out at 120-125, gonna be interesting to see the station readings up the road from now.

They actively root for dozens of people to die so that trumps place gets damaged. They can do this and feel morally justified. I hope I don't even casually know anyone like that.

Lots of movement East with the GFS ensemble. That's good for Florida, may be bad for Carolinas.

BARA9 had 120 mph sustained and 155 mph gusts prior to the eye.

Luckily for that island I think it will be a little too far south to get as hairy as Barbuda. That's good as I've been wanting to travel to St John.

I am curious about Nicker Island. Anyone see if that is in the direct path?

That's going to be catching the eye soon it looks like, and pretty much all the USVI are in the immediate path. They might not get directly, but where that station is in Charlotte amelie should be getting some major action soon.

And is that a light on in that stream at the bottom? How is that even possible?

People who were talking about booking hotels in Georgia for evacuation might want a backup plan.

Word here is that all hotels in town have sold out from the 9th thru the 16th. I live in SC ~60 miles inland from the coast of the SC/Ga border.. ~100 miles inland from Charleston.

Got a feeling all of these ppl are going to wish they'd gone farther inland.
