Yeah, it shows it still stronger than Harvey 6 hours after landfall sitting on top of Columbia. But, this isn't the end all be all. But in this scenario, Atlanta would be where I'd go.

I'm a trauma nurse so I can't leave bc of work. But I did go get a generator when I got off today. Going tomorrow to fill extra containers with gas and pick up some nonperishable and water and make sure I have enough food on hand for my dachshund.
When I bought the generator today, the store didn't have many left already. I lived thru Hugo. My parents had a beach house on Edisto and there was just a slab left afterwards where it had been located. They never rebuilt and sold the land it had been on. But I remember the destruction and devastation from Hugo and he was no where near as potent as Irma.

I had family that moved to Georgetown in 1990...I was a little kid but I remember wondering why all the trees were leaning to one side. Guess he was lucky he got transferred when he did and not a year sooner.
Good luck to you. I'm sure the hospital would be a safe place for you to ride this thing out,but damn...I wish you could leave. Hopefully it swings out to sea. I'll be praying for y'all.

Thank you so much! Yeah, if ya gotta stay behind, really no better place than a hospital I suppose. I may try to get family further inland to keep my dog and just stay at the hospital the whole time instead of attempting to travel back and forth from home.

So whats the latest fellas? Any new shifts or forecast?
Euro Model shows a more easterly path than the previous run. It is now modeling a tour of the Atlantic coast of Florida and heading for the Georgia/SC boarder.

I live on an island in Georgia. We are more than a bit concerned.

00z Euro Ensembles:
About half the members still take it into the peninsula, but there was a noticeable shift east. The 00z GFS shifted to the west, so perhaps they're narrowing down the options.

Looks to me like it will swing east of Florida I'm feeling much better this morning. I know things can change but I think we are getting down to window where the path begins to really solidify. The NHC track way outlier now but only for continuity they haven't swung that hard yet. By the next advisory it will be offshore, but the Carolinas are now squarely in the crosshairs unfortunately.

This is like playing Russian roulette with some friends. You don't want to take it but feel bad hoping someone else does.
Hmm any projections going to Cuba instead?

Well stated!!
Until it takes the turn north, I will still have some pucker going on. Still hoping it doesn't ever make landfall in the US, and feels like playing with some ships instead!!!
