SEriously, I saw a seagull in central Alabama after Katrina (or maybe that was Ivan, the year before). We are 200 miles from the shoreline.
shite two days before Ivan made landfall, both of my dogs started digging holes likes crazy in my back yard. New we were fricked.

Depending on how close this thing is to Puerto Rico, we should get a pretty good look at it on radar tomorrow.

Barbuda... good question, but I am sure the vast majority of them will make it. Move to high ground and seek shelter is really the only option if you're stuck there now.
Barbuda's highest peak is 128'
Antigua's highest used to be called Boggy Peak but is now Mount Obama at 1,319 ft. (An extinct (or hopefully extinct) volcano.

When do y'all think they will shut down flights out of FLL? My friend has a flight out Friday to try and evacuate to NOLA or will have to ride it out with coworkers inland if it's cancelled. Can't leave any earlier due to work circumstances

Is the rumor that airlines are jacking Miami prices up true?

I evaced Matthew inland about 60 miles just to be safe. He was a Cat 3 (we were lucky) and was suppose to hit or just sit. Rule of thumb on the coast here is 3 or above everybody evacuates. People don't play anymore.

Flase.
Google search - flight from Miami to Nashville on Saturday is around $250.
Flight Friday is still only $475
That's pretty comparable for a flight 3 days out
Didn't check other cities, but at least to fly to Nashville it appears normal
ETA: Flights to Chicago are pretty much the same
