I can't man. My mom refuses to leave so I have to stay close to her for the inevitable. If it hits bad like I know is a possibility, then no way her crappy little house will make it. So I have to stay for her.

This is none of my business, so don't feel obligated to answer, but does she not want to leave because of a medical reason or something, or just because she doesn't think it will be that bad?

I pretty much assume all that alarmist crap posted between now and Irma's demise is bs until proven otherwise.

Looking at this thing is almost hypnotizing.

That's terrifying. We have some skin in the game, our families vacation home is on 30A, hope to frick that it never enters the Gulf. We have hurricane insurance so we'll recover if need be. I cant help but think about the countless number of people in it's direct path though. Especially those in the USVI, British VI, Bahamas and the Keys.

Yeah, Levi explained that earlier. He said the storm is so strong that the ERCs don't have any effect on Irma at all.

I evaced Matthew inland about 60 miles just to be safe.
You have referenced evaced several times. Only people I know using that word are ex-military. Where'd you pick that up?

This. Screenshots and shite are almost 100% fake. Rumors will be everywhere.

I think it was Rita coming in ... there were huge flocks after flocks of birds heading inland. I watched for at least 3 hours ... it was amazing.

Watched this same phenomenon during Katrina and then after the fact during Rita. It truly is amazing/awe inspring/ terrifying all bundled in to one big feeling of Frick

Voted for Trump but guess I'm an a-hole because I think it's fricked up for an airline to charge 3k for a flight to Phoenix.

It has an effect. In this case, the ERC is limiting further strengthening. Levi's point was the ERCs may weaken it, but dropping 30 mph still puts it as a 155 mph storm.
