Peej, how many alters do you have? Just 1? On the last page, I noticed everyone who said something about you or disagreed with you, had 2 downvotes within a couple of minutes of their post.

I hope Shep makes a return for this hurricane season for Florida. It was awesome hearing him say this while hunkering in my closet last time.

Honest question, who is Peej?
Peej's user name is Dukke V.
He makes predictions from weather to sports on a routine basis, and has not gotten one single prediction correct since he predicted LSU would beat Auburn in 2007, or something like that.
I'm not sure he has ever got a weather prediction even close to correct.
So, he's considered a jinx to predicting who will win or who will not get a hurricane, flood, or tornado.
Otherwise, he is just another poster on this board.

It was mainly bar tenders who were pretty calm about it. Uber driver was worried tho, said he is making a decision tomorrow.
Wilma wrecked Key West 11 years ago and it wasn't even a direct hit.

can go right over Florida, or he even said it can get into the Gulf.
Just to clear this up, a lot of the reliable models ARE showing that it reaches the gulf, but primarily in the Big Bend area of FL, and thats just because it makes it there before the swing to the N-NE.

00z early cycle tracks
Notice the HWRF and HMON sticking out. The HWRF has done well this season and the HMON is new. Those tracks and the 18z GEFS cluster off of western Florida is a bit of a wonder. Not saying it means anything but hopefully the 00z runs with all the extra data clear things up a bit.

:sigh:
yes, all storms eventually move out to the N-NE.
the problem is the models keep moving this one WEST.
i.e., into the Gulf.

Just for "fun", we can look at the HMON again. Pressure at 869mb and upper level winds of about 240mph.

According to PeeJ, Harvey was supposed to head straight to Mexico and not even come close to the US Mainland.
Instead Harvey made 2 US landfalls and is going to end up being the most costliest natural disaster ever to hit the US at a price tag of $200 billion.
Good job PeeJ. You sure nailed that one.

That can't actually happen, right?
Posted on 9/4/17 at 8:02 pm to tgrbaitn08
Peej has just made his calls too early off models with incomplete data. Honestly anyone trying to nail a landfall currently isn't any different than him.

No, this solution won't happen. I just posted because it is interesting. HMON goes a little overboard.
Posted on 9/4/17 at 8:04 pm to Kcoyote
The HMON is uncoupled (ie doesn't have ocean conditions tied into the atmospheric conditions) from what I've read. Assuming that is the case, you can ignore the ridiculous pressures it's throwing out.
