Zeta was underhyped. Strengthened a lot more than they were predicting.

Models actually did pretty well on Zeta but the human mets might have been a little slow to up the forecast. The NHC stayed on the high end of all guidance at least but yeah that was a bit of a surprise yesterday. Seems like they all surprise to the high end this year.

Possibly. It's really hard to keep a system moving W for an extended period of time this late in the season. One trend we have seen the last couple of months is that whenever the models show a ridge axis centered over the Mountain West they almost always miss a s/w undercutting the ridge. There are signs that this could happen again but not worth splitting hairs over at this point. Also, have to watch the EC trough, if it is deeper or slower to lift out then that could let the system drift northward in a few days. A farther north track misses Honduras/Nicaragua and then more readily feels any weakness coming under the Western ridge.

One more time for the slow kids in class, please.

Worth remembering when model watching.

That I did see to watch for. Earlier organization would probably pull it farther north too even if it doesn't deepen much vs modeling.

This must be how my wife feels when I get to talking technical IT shite about work. I try to dumb it down to normal English but the blank stares I get indicate that she must feel like I do when I read rds posts

I think he means it’s possible we could have another hurricane despite it being November and feeling cool temperatures.

A new disturbance in the eastern Caribbean, labeled "Invest #96L", is likely to develop into a tropical storm during the weekend as it moves westward. It could be a threat to Honduras and Nicaragua as soon as Monday. It's too early to know if the storm will threaten other areas.

Add in the Hard Rock Curse, and you have the 2020 Hurricane Season.

Someone needs to find some pig knuckles, chicken feet, and eye of newt, stat.
