98L looks like it will be another powerful WCAB system. The ridge over the top looks to be enough to push it straight through and keep it from pulling an Eta. Overall, sad situation as many of the areas in CA are still trying to cleanup after Eta.

Eta's track sure changed quickly. 2 days ago it was forecast to be lingering off the NW Florida coast this weekend....now its showing it'll be close to Nova Scotia by the weekend

North and South Carolina half way west across the states this morning got about 6 inches of rain in four hours. Flooding followed.
Our local weather person said that rainfall was increased by water coming off of Eta. (Which makes sense because overnight we on the west side of the Smokies only had 0.3" over about seven hours.
I don't think that part of the Carolinas was in any part of the cone yesterday or today, probably because only wind speed matters.
