These city and school officials keep crying wolf every time a tropical wave gets in the gulf. People are going to stop heeding their warning when there is actual danger. It’s getting ridiculous.

So what are people going to do? Send kids to closed schools and show up to offices that are closed?

I agree though, this was a major overreaction to close the schools in southeast La today and tomorrow.

I think it will be a long time before people on the gulf coast forget what Katrina did

Or maybe, you can just wait to close schools until you have an ACTUAL DEFINITE THREAT.

There was really no reason any school anywhere on the Gulf Coast should have been closed today. None.

This thread might suggest otherwise. Plenty in here seem to be almost upset that this thing is so mild.

Are you on Fort Morgan right now? If your near the west tip, you could be getting the eye wall hitting you.

Yes. Can’t believe we still have power. Had to get off the balcony, got pretty sketchy.

I think sometimes Seidel has the producers bring in a wind machine and fire truck to create his scenes. That boy is always turning to one side to get his stance

Didn't need a wind machine tonight, Dauphin Island caught the worst of it.

Pascagoula would appear to be the eventual landfall winner.

Weather Channel is making up shite about "this could", "we might see.." Going on about 1.3 ft storm surge. They are very excited about "some trees down."

Thank god for the shot of that one boat mildly rocking. TWC has built their entire broadcast around it.
